Is the molding material safe for babies and during pregnancy?
I use alginate, a flexible molding material made from brown seaweed. Mixed with water, it forms a soft gel that captures very fine detail, which is why it is commonly used for impressions. It is safe. If you have allergies, sensitive skin or pregnancy-related concerns, please consult your healthcare provider before your session.
How old does my baby need to be?
Between 3 days and 18 months old. For a Christmas ornament, up to 12 months old.
How long does a session take?
About 30 minutes. Family hand castings and belly castings take about an hour.
What if my baby won't stay still?
Babies don't normally cooperate, and that's completely normal. We take as many breaks as needed to keep your baby comfortable.
How many people can be in one cast?
A hand sculpture holds up to 5 hands. A family frame holds up to 8 hands.
What finishes and frame colors can I choose?
Hand, belly and placenta castings come in gold, silver, pearl, bronze, copper or antique gold. Hand sculptures sit on a wood plate in natural, oak, walnut, espresso or cherry, or on an acrylic plate in burgundy, black, beige, clear sky blue or white. I bring all the samples to your session, so you can see the finishes, mat board colors and frame options in person and make your selections there. See every finish

How much does it cost?
Every casting has a starting price on the Services page: baby castings from $150, hand sculptures from $280, belly castings from $350, family hand castings from $420, placenta castings from $150, Christmas ornaments from $65 and personalized keepsake boxes from $250. A 30% deposit books your date.
Do you take deposits? What is your cancellation policy?
A 30% non-refundable booking deposit holds your date. You can reschedule with at least 48 hours' notice, and the deposit transfers to one new appointment date. For belly and placenta castings I can be more flexible, since labor and delivery dates are unpredictable.
