Hi, I'm Maray

I'm a mom of two beautiful girls. When I became a first-time mom in 2018, I wanted to preserve every little milestone and detail of my baby's childhood. I discovered hand casting and instantly fell in love with the idea. In 2024, I decided to learn the art of hand casting myself. What started as a way to create these meaningful keepsakes for my own children grew into a passion for helping other families preserve their most precious moments.

What is life casting?

Life casting is the process of creating a three-dimensional mold directly from a part of a living person's body, then using that mold to create a realistic sculpture or keepsake.

The mold picks up every line, crease and fingerprint, so the finished piece is a true-to-life copy of that moment.

The mold
Alginate, a soft gel made from brown seaweed, for hands and feet. Bellies are cast with plaster strips.

Is the molding material safe for babies and during pregnancy?
I use alginate, a flexible molding material made from brown seaweed. Mixed with water, it forms a soft gel that captures very fine detail, which is why it is commonly used for impressions. It is safe. If you have allergies, sensitive skin or pregnancy-related concerns, please consult your healthcare provider before your session.
How old does my baby need to be?
Between 3 days and 18 months old. For a Christmas ornament, up to 12 months old.
How long does a session take?
About 30 minutes. Family hand castings and belly castings take about an hour.
What if my baby won't stay still?
Babies don't normally cooperate, and that's completely normal. We take as many breaks as needed to keep your baby comfortable.
How many people can be in one cast?
A hand sculpture holds up to 5 hands. A family frame holds up to 8 hands.
